What I sometimes create in intimacy
is a pot lined with poison
And I drag us both into it.
And expect good.

Resting in the River
In a talk called, Resting in the River, Thich Nhat Hanh, says that when we throw a pebble into the water it sinks to the bottom without struggle. It allows the water to pass by as it rests on the bottom of the river. We have a habit energy of struggling all the time. We have to learn to rest. We have to practice in order to be able to transform this habit in us and to become like a pebble in the river.

I am quiet, resting as everything rushes over me, sometimes the turmoil is slow and lazy and I hardly am aware of it. Sometimes I will tumble out of my resting place to a new one when the forces around me push and pull me.
