Pebbles in the river

Thich Nhat Hanh describes how a pebble reaches the bed of the river by the shortest path because it allows itself to fall without making any effort. He says we can allow ourselves to rest like a pebble. We have to learn the art of resting. Our minds as well as our bodies need to rest.

hello, that is very good words to live by. I myself, in my own individuality, would like to think of myself as fish in the river of life. a river changes every year, like you said, sometimes it rushes so fast and the fish have to swim harder. i have seen fish rest in a river, when the water rrushes past them. anyway, a fish has the choice and a pebble just falls. but that is my own opinion. have a nice day.

Yes, fish are important also. We need fish, too. Jean
