Resting in the River
In a talk called, Resting in the River, Thich Nhat Hanh, says that when we throw a pebble into the water it sinks to the bottom without struggle. It allows the water to pass by as it rests on the bottom of the river. We have a habit energy of struggling all the time. We have to learn to rest. We have to practice in order to be able to transform this habit in us and to become like a pebble in the river.

hello, that is very good words to live by. I myself, in my own individuality, would like to think of myself as fish in the river of life. a river changes every year, like you said, sometimes it rushes so fast and the fish have to swim harder. i have seen fish rest in a river, when the water rrushes past them. anyway, a fish has the choice and a pebble just falls. but that is my own opinion. have a nice day.
Yes, fish are important also. We need fish, too. Jean
